Vacationing in Valle de Guadalupe: Mexico Wine Country

Mexico Auto InsuranceGorgeous weather, delicious wine, friendly neighbors and a breathtaking view make a no-brainer for vacation. California is known for its Wine Country. Its reach now extends across the border to Valle de Guadalupe, a beautiful area just over an hour from the U.S.-Mexico border.

Food and Wine

There are over 200 wineries in Valle de Guadalupe with wine that even the pickiest wine connoisseurs can admire. Highly reviewed wineries in Valle de Guadalupe include Xecue Vinicola, Casa Magoni and Monte Xanic. This destination also offers amazing, authentic food such as taco de pescado, barbecued quail, huarache oysters and more. Enjoy farm-fresh meals from the surrounding farms during your stay.

Things to Do

There are tons of things to do and sights to see on vacation in Valle de Guadalupe. Some of the best additions to your itinerary would be:
  • Wine Tasting. This one’s pretty obvious. You can’t go to Wine Country without participating in a wine tasting or two. Luckily there are plenty of wineries that offer wine tasting to tourists.
  • Tours. You can also attend a wine tasting while touring. A tour of La Bufadora can show you the biggest sea geyser in North America, or you can tour the nearby city and its many shops.
  • Go to the Beach. Beaches are the #1 vacation spot for most people, and luckily Valle de Guadalupe has plenty. Visit Playa Hermosa Beach and Las Gaviotas, a gated resort right on the beach.
  • Valle Food & Wine Festival. This annual October festival gathers over 40 top chefs together for a night of wine, incredible food, art and life music.

How to Get There

Depending on how much you like road trips, you can either fly or drive to Valle de Guadalupe. Fly into Tijuana International Airport and drive over an hour south to your destination or simply drive the entire way. If you drive, you can go through Tijuana or cross over at Otay Mesa, San Diego. Either way, you’ll need a form of transportation while in Mexico. If you’re driving, make sure you have Mexican Auto Insurance so your trip can continue without a hitch.

Traveling to Mexico for vacation is more popular than ever. The weather is beautiful, the scenery is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is exciting. Grab your passport and ID and rive down to Valle de Guadalupe if you’re looking for a wine-and-food-filled vacation.
