NOV 1-2: Day of the Dead. All over Mexico.
For one of Mexicoâs most colorful and magical displays of Day of the Dead, visit Oaxaca City in Oaxaca. Local markets burst with preparatory activities, and playful skeleton imagery adorns storefronts and home windows. The festival formally begins on October 31st, where families pay honor to their ancestors or deceased loved ones with the careful and sometimes elaborate construction of an in-house altar. Over the years, the altars have evolved into objects of art, making this celebration a true exhibition. Typically, homes are open to those interested in paying homage to their dead.

NOV 13-16: International Hot Air Balloon Festival - Leon, Guanajuato.
The largest event of its kind in Latin America, the International Hot Air Balloon Festival sees the sky filled with hot air balloons manned by pilots from all over the world. First held in 2002 with just 27 balloons, it has quickly grown to become a popular family day out involving more than 90 balloons and over 150,000 spectators. Other attractions include a parachute display, zoo, rodeo competition and fireworks display.
NOV 16-17: Vallarta Gulf Cup â Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.
The Fifth Puerto Vallarta Cup Golf Tournament welcomes amateur golfers from Mexico, the USA and Canada. NOV 20: Mexican Revolution Day - All of Mexico.
Celebrated throughout Mexico, 20 November marks the day in 1910 when the war to overthrow the dictator General Porfirio Diaz began. The revolution was fought due to the growing disparity between the rich landowners and the rest of the population who were mainly poor peasants and farmers. The day is marked by colourful parades and parties and is an opportunity for great feasting and celebrations.
