A Tourist Auto Policy or a Mexico Auto Insurance Policy is designed for U.S., Canadian and other foreign plated vehicles driving in Mexico. It protects you and your passengers against financial, medical and legal risks so you can travel safely throughout Mexico.

Requirements & Exclusions

Your U.S. plated vehicle must have a valid temporary importation permit unless exempt in Free Zone areas. If the vehicle is a “salvage”, it must be declared at the time you are obtain a quote and purchase a policy. You must follow claims procedures, report incidents while in Mexico, allow legal representation, and meet with an adjuster if necessary. Some exclusions, certain uses, modifications or situations might not be covered. Make sure to read the general conditions.

Do I need Mexican Insurance if I’m only driving near the border?
